Installation Tips

Pre-drill for screws, though Teak is moderate in hardness.

Use stainless steel or silicon bronze fasteners for marine applications.

Allow 1/8" gap between boards for expansion.

Clean surfaces with acetone before gluing (natural oils resist adhesives).

Choose plantation-grown Teak for sustainability.

Hidden fastener systems give the cleanest results.

Maintenance

Teak requires very little maintenance. It can be left completely untreated to weather to a beautiful silver-gray patina, or oiled annually to maintain the warm golden-brown color. For marine applications, periodic cleaning with a teak cleaner and brightener restores the original color. Avoid varnish — penetrating oils work best with Teak's natural oil content.
