No pre-drilling needed — Cypress accepts fasteners easily.

Use stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized screws.

Allow 1/8" gap between boards for expansion.

Seal or stain within 30-60 days of installation.

Install bark-side up to minimize cupping.

Standard woodworking tools work well with Cypress.

Maintenance

Seal or stain Cypress decking every 2-3 years for best color retention and protection. Cypress weathers naturally to silver-gray if left untreated. Clean annually with a mild wood cleaner. Inspect periodically and refinish as needed. Cypress responds well to semi-transparent stains.
