Installation Tips

Acclimate for 7-10 days before installation.

Pre-drill at board ends — Santos Mahogany is very hard.

Use a heavy-duty nailer with proper PSI.

Maintain 3/8" expansion gap at walls.

Interlocking grain can cause tear-out — sand with the grain carefully.

Use sharp carbide-tipped blades for cutting.

Maintenance

Sweep or vacuum regularly. Clean with a hardwood floor cleaner. Santos Mahogany's extreme hardness provides excellent long-term wear resistance. The color will darken over the first year — manage UV exposure for even development. Refinish every 10-15 years. The interlocking grain can make sanding slightly more challenging — use fine grits and go slowly.
