At 1,320 lbf Janka hardness, Ash performs nearly identically to White Oak in terms of dent resistance and wear. Ash is known for its exceptional shock resistance (it's the wood used for baseball bats and tool handles), making it a smart choice for active households. Maintenance

Felt pads under furniture, area rugs at entryways. Refinish every 7-10 years. Ash's light color shows dirt more than dark floors but also shows scratches less.
