Cedar Fencing
Premium cedar fencing boards for residential and commercial projects
Overview
Western Red Cedar is the most popular premium fence material in North America. Its natural oils provide built-in resistance to rot, decay, and insect attack without requiring chemical treatment. Cedar fences deliver a warm, rich appearance that weathers gracefully to a distinguished silver-gray patina, or can be stained to maintain their original reddish-brown color for decades.

Installation Tips
Set posts in concrete at least 2 feet deep for a 6-foot fence
Use stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized fasteners to prevent corrosion stains
Space boards 1/8" to 1/4" apart to allow for expansion
Seal or stain within 2-4 weeks of installation for best color retention
Apply finish to all cut ends immediately to prevent moisture absorption
Use 2x4 rails — not 2x3 — for a sturdy, long-lasting fence
Maintenance
Cedar fences require restaining or resealing every 2-3 years to maintain their color. If left natural, cedar weathers to a uniform silver-gray with no structural concern. Power wash annually to remove dirt and mildew. Replace individual boards as needed rather than entire sections.
