Cumaru Siding
Premium cumaru siding boards for residential and commercial projects
Overview
Cumaru siding offers the performance of an ultra-hard exotic hardwood at a more accessible price point than Ipe. With a Janka hardness of 3,330 lbf and natural oils that resist decay, mold, and insects, Cumaru cladding delivers 20+ years of durable, beautiful exterior protection. Its warm golden-brown to reddish-brown color creates a striking facade that complements both modern and traditional architecture. For builders seeking exotic hardwood performance without the Ipe premium, Cumaru is the smart choice.

Installation Tips
Pre-drill all fastener holes — Cumaru is extremely hard.
Use stainless steel screws or approved hidden clip systems.
Install over a rainscreen furring strip system for ventilation.
Allow 1/16" to 1/8" gap between boards for expansion.
Seal all cut ends immediately with end-sealer.
Acclimate boards on-site for 5-7 days before installation.
Maintenance
Cumaru siding requires minimal maintenance. Apply a UV-protective hardwood oil annually to maintain the warm brown color, or allow it to weather naturally to silver-gray. The natural oils in the wood provide ongoing protection regardless of surface finish. Clean with mild soap and water as needed. No painting or chemical treatment required.
