What this grade means

Select grade is essentially the same as FAS One Face but allows smaller minimum board sizes (4 inches wide, 6 feet long vs 6 inches wide, 8 feet long for F1F). This makes Select a practical choice when narrower or shorter boards are acceptable.

Defects allowed

Same as F1F but minimum board size is 4" x 6' instead of 6" x 8'

Typical uses

Same as F1F — furniture, cabinets, millwork where one good face is sufficient
